where does the time go?
i went to see my grandmother today, she is dying before my very eyes.
when i went to see her last week i had almost convinced myself that the doctors were mistaken; she was sitting in her chair as always, clean hair, new housecoat, telling stories about my dad and his siblings as children. I love all of the stories; it's like she goes back to that time, and good or bad, you almost feel like you were there too. the house is like a time capsule for me, memories of sitting at the "kids" table on Christmas morning eating her creamed eggs (a personal favorite of mine), the wooden door knocker chime thingy, the plush multi-colored carpet that never seems to age, the stairs that lead to the "spooky" attic (i think i braved it on just two occasions), the buffet that always had candy or nuts on it when i was a child and of course the ever growing collages that house he ever growing family, sadly, my three month old baby girl will probably never make her way to one of her walls.

Hi Abbie,
Really great! I love your writing style. Don't be too hard on yourself about the baby weight, I'm still battling it as well (my little one is almost 3!) I know what you mean about getting serious and doing something though. I love your entry about your grandmother, it reminds me of mine. I had so many special memories. Keep it up, I think you are fantastic. Miss you, hope all is well.
Hi cutie
Can I jump in and say that I still have baby weight???!! Only...Edison Jr is already 11 years old so that may not work for me. I remember, though, how difficult it was to schedule meals and plan a workout while I had an infant and all the coming years until they went to school. You'll get your second wind - you'll see. Be patient! You're awesome!
and the vertical wall heater that is cut through the wall so one of you can stand in the living room, and one in the hallway to get cozy....
